So what is special equipment? The latest catalogue of special equipment is defined as: hoisting machinery, which refers to electromechanical equipment used for vertical lifting or vertical lifting and horizontal movement of heavy objects, the scope of which is specified as lifts with a rated lifting capacity greater than or equal to 0.5; 3t (or a tower crane with a rated lifting moment greater than or equal to 40t m, or a loading and unloading bridge with a productivity greater than or equal to 300t/h) and a crane with a lifting height greater than or equal to 2m; machinery with layers greater than or equal to 2 type parking equipment.

According to ' In accordance with the Special Equipment Safety Law of the People's Republic of China and the Regulations on Special Equipment Safety Supervision, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has revised the Special Equipment Catalogue, which is hereby promulgated for implementation upon approval by the State Council. At the same time, the 'Notice on Publishing the Catalogue of Special Equipment' (Guoqianguo [2004] No. 31) and the 'Notice on Supplementing the Catalogue of Special Equipment' (Guozhengjiante [2010] No. 22) were repealed. The 'Catalogue of Special Equipment' shall be interpreted by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
