Why does the battery capacity of semi-electric stacker drop?

by:Staxx Pallet Truck     2023-02-17

With the continuous advancement of science and technology, the semi-electric stacker in the industrial market has quickly occupied a certain market due to its convenient operation, simple maintenance, high cost performance, low noise, and no pollution. Semi-electric stackers are ideal for use in indoor work. Our more common semi-electric stackers are powered by batteries, and the price is relatively low. The semi-electric stacker can be charged for 8 hours once, but as time goes on, it can be fully charged in about 4 hours, and then the power will drop rapidly. What is going on?

There is a situation that after the battery of the electric storage forklift and semi-electric stacker is delivered, the user does not install and use it in time, and long-term storage causes self-discharge, resulting in insufficient battery capacity. So for the maintenance of the battery, we want to remind everyone to charge it once in a while.

Another is that the positive plate of the battery is corroded and deformed, causing insufficient battery capacity. The positive plate of the battery will affect the service life of the battery to a large extent, and the capacity of the charge and discharge cycle of the forklift battery will lead to a decrease in the capacity of the deep cycle, which is closely related to the quality deviation of the positive plate.

The main reason for the softening and falling off of the active material on the positive grid of the electric storage forklift battery is the high current charging and discharging of the forklift battery. Microscopically, there are macropores and micropores in the active material. The macropore is composed of many small pores with a size of more than 0.5cm. As the discharge cycle progresses, the surface of the active material shrinks to form a core coral-like structure; while multiple discharge cycles The use of more small holes will increase the number of large holes, destroy the structure of the positive electrode, and cause the active material to fall off. The corrosion deformation rate of the positive grid depends on the composition of the grid alloy. The higher the storage temperature, the faster the corrosion rate, and the deeper the discharge depth, the more serious the corrosion.

The sulfation of the negative plate of the semi-electric stacker battery will also cause the battery capacity of the electric storage forklift to decrease. In normal operation, the PbSO4 particles on the negative plate are small, and the discharge is easy to restore to fluffy lead, but sometimes lead sulfate that is difficult to restore is generated inside the battery, which is called sulfation.

There are many reasons for the salinization of the negative electrode, such as failure to charge in time after discharge, long-term storage of the battery, causing severe self-discharge, high electrolyte concentration, long-term insufficient charging, and long-term discharge at high temperature. This kind of lead sulfate is difficult to restore by conventional methods. , so the reduction of active substances will inevitably affect the capacity of the battery of the semi-electric stacker.
