How to Repair the Drive Axle of a Pallet Truck

The drive axle housing of the pallet truck is firmly mounted on the pallet truck frame. Since the drive axle and the frame are rigidly connected, the drive axle will bear most of the weight in the pallet truck forklifting or handling and stacking operations, and the road is uneven and the load of the fork is uneven. There will be damage such as bending, fracture, wear of the bearing hole of the half shaft casing and wear of the journal of the half shaft casing.

1. Inspection and repair of the bending of the drive axle housing of the pallet truck:

1) Inspection of the bending of the drive axle housing. Before the inspection, the flatness of the contact flange of the half shaft and the end plane of the hub should be corrected first to eliminate the circular runout error of the end face, and then the standard half shaft should be installed on the drive axle housing, the bearings should be tightened, and the center of the left and right half shafts should be tested from the housing. position, and determine whether there is bending. The difference between the two axes should not be greater than 0.75mm.

2) Correction should be made when the bending of the drive axle housing exceeds the limit. When calibrating, the corrected deformation should not be greater than the original bending deformation, and the correction pressure should be maintained for a period of time to obtain a certain plastic deformation of the axle housing. If the deformation is too large and the bending deformation is greater than 2mm, it can be corrected after preheating, but the heating temperature is not allowed to exceed 700℃. The cast axle housing is best to avoid thermal correction.

2. Repair of the fracture of the drive axle housing of the pallet truck:

The crack in the middle of the drive axle housing and the crack on the flange , can be repaired by welding, and the operation points are as follows:

1) A 90° V-shaped groove is opened along the crack, and its depth is 2/3 of the thickness.

2) Drill 5mm diameter holes at 6-10mm from both ends of the crack.

3) For electric welding repair cracks, the welding layer should be higher than the base metal, but not more than 1mm. After the front side is welded, the reverse side is welded and repaired, and the weld should be smoothed after welding. If the welding repair is on the working plane, the flatness error should not be greater than 0.25mm.

4) After the crack is repaired by welding, the reinforcing web should be welded at the crack, its thickness is generally 4-6mm, and the reinforcing web should be symmetrical with the center of the drive axle housing.

5) If the crack penetrates to the drive axle housing cover or the flange plane of the main reducer, a reinforcing belly ring should be welded after welding repair. The reinforcing belly ring on the plane of the drive axle housing cover can be reconnected to the outside, and the main reducer housing should be reconnected to the inner surface depending on the permission of the internal space. When welding the reinforcing belly ring, the bolt should be used to press the reinforcing belly ring on the plane first, so as to avoid position movement and deflection during welding.

6) The drive axle housing after welding repair and reinforcement shall be re-checked for its straightness error, the flatness error of the housing cover and the flange plane of the main reducer, and the Calibration and grinding to meet the standard.

3. Inspection and repair of other parts:

1) Coaxiality of inner and outer bearing necks at both ends of axle housing The error should not be greater than 0.01mm; the perpendicularity error between the bearing seat neck and its thrust end face should not be greater than 0.05mm; the bearing seat neck should be perpendicular to the plane of the flange of the brake base plate, and the perpendicularity error should not be greater than 0.1mm.

2) The thread damage of the screw hole should be no more than 2 buttons, and it can be repaired by inserting a screw sleeve or welding.

3) When the wear of the oil seal journal is greater than 0.15mm, it can be repaired by inserting a sleeve.

4) When the journal wear of the half-shaft sleeve-mounted rolling bearing is greater than 0.04mm, it can be repaired by chrome plating or surfacing welding.

5) If there are any cracks and defects in the half shaft casing, it should be replaced.

6) The wear of the inner and outer end seat holes of the axle casing of the drive axle housing shall not exceed 0.06mm, otherwise the axle journal of the axle casing can be chrome-plated or enlarged to the repair size.

7) When the drive axle housing is broken, it should be replaced.
