Domestic imported electric forklift batteries must be filed

A few days ago, two batteries imported from Germany by an enterprise in Zhangjiagang were ordered to be returned by Zhangjiagang Inspection and Inspection Bureau.　　 In March, Zhangjiagang inspectors inspected the electric forklifts imported by the company and found that these forklifts were powered by batteries. According to the provisions of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, all battery products must be filed with the inspection and quarantine agency before being imported, and can be imported only after obtaining the record, and the battery is imported privately without import record. Accordingly, the bureau made a decision on the handling of returned batteries.　　 In order to strengthen the prevention and control of mercury pollution in battery products, and to protect and improve my country’s ecological environment, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued the 'Measures for the Inspection and Supervision of Mercury Content in Imported and Exported Battery Products' in 2000. The 'Measures' stipulate that the filing applicants (manufacturers, importers or import agents, etc.) of imported battery products shall apply to the relevant inspection and quarantine agency for filing before the battery products are imported. The inspection and quarantine agency comprehensively determines whether the battery structure, electrochemical system, and battery mercury content test results meet the filing requirements, and battery products that have not been filed are not allowed to be imported. The entry-exit inspection and quarantine department reminds domestic enterprises to strengthen the study and research of relevant national policies and regulations to avoid 'violation' behaviors due to ignorance of policies, which will bring unnecessary impact and losses to the normal production and operation of enterprises.
